Sierra Evangelical Lutheran Church was formally organized as a mission congregation of the American Lutheran Church in January 1959. Our first service was held on September 7, 1958 in the El Rancho Roller Rink with an attendance of 38. We have been serving the community in our present location since August 1959. In 1989 Sierra Lutheran established Shepherd's Fold, an affiliated early childhood learning center. Shepherd's Fold Child Care Center offers young children, from birth to 5-years old, a Christian setting in which to grow, learn, and develop physically, spiritually, intellectually, and socially.
At Sierra Lutheran we are dedicated to serving the surrounding community with the love and hospitality embodied by Jesus Christ. We carry out this calling through our faith, love, and care with a commitment to justice, peace, and inclusiveness. Everyone is a child of God, uniquely blessed with many gifts and great worth, made in God’s image. We recognize, value, and give thanks for the many diverse gifts of God among us.
